Here is a list of artists, publications, and other objects or ideas that (I think) are pretty inspiring. Please let me know if you have links to any others that you would like to see added.

I mentioned The Ecstasy of Influence by Jonathan Lethem a couple of times in class. It is a fascinating article on copyright and plagiarism, but grab it soon – I’m not sure how reliable this link will be in the future.

Paul Chan is an artist that experiments with a variety of media. His publishing company, Badlands Unlimited, issues cutting edge eBooks.

Christian Marclay is another artist that uses print, video, music, and any other media he can to produce fascinating. experimental work.

We looked at the beautiful 75th anniversary edition of American Photographs by Walker Evans. Buy the book or download hi res files of his works in the public domain from the Library of Congress.
